Nikon launches D300s and D3000

Nikon has officially launched the D300s and D3000 after months of speculation.

The D300s is a strategic upgrade that adds 7fps burst shooting with the standard EN-EL3e battery, twin (CF and SD) memory card slots, 720p video capture and stereo mic input.

The D3000 is replaces the D40 boasting a 10.04 million image pixel with self-cleaning sensor, 11-area AF syste, 3-inch rear LCD and a new assist feature for novice photographers called Guide Mode.

The D300s is slated to ship in late August 2009 at an expected street price of US$1799.95 in the U.S.

The D3000, in a kit with the AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens, is scheduled to ship in late August 2009 at an expected street price of US$599.95 in the U.S.
